Sweet Peas with Bacon
Can I just say how much I love sweet peas? When they are cooked correctly they are so tasty and make a fantastic companion to just about any dinner, especially around the holidays. This particular recipe is one of my favorites and is definitely a holiday go-to.
Sweet Peas with Bacon
1 lb. bag frozen sweet peas
1/4 onion, finely diced
2-4 strips bacon, diced
1 Tbsp. butter
Salt & pepper
1 can chicken broth
-In large saute pan cook bacon until browned and crisp. Drain fat then add onion and butter. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is translucent.
-Add peas, season with salt and pepper, then add broth. Bring to a boil then let simmer 20-30 minutes.
-Serves about 6 as a side dish.
