Newborn Summer Sleeper Cocoon & Matching Hat (Crochet)


Here is my very first original crochet pattern! This is very simple and works up rather quickly, you could easily make a few of these for yourself or anyone you know! This is my very first pattern so it's very possible I may have made a mistake or two, feel free to let me know in the comments below and as always feel free to ask any questions, happy crocheting!


Newborn Summer Sleeper Cocoon:
Materials Needed:
Crochet J Hook
2 balls Sugar N' Cream yarn OR 1 skein Simply Soft yarn
Embroidery needle
Scissors

-chain 4, slip stitch to form ring
1. ch 2 (counts as 1st), 11 dc in ring, sl st to join = 12
2. ch 2, dc in same, 2 dc in each around, sl st = 24
3. ch 2, *2 dc in next, 1 dc in next* around, sl st = 34
4. ch 2, *2 dc in next, 1 dc in next 2* around, sl st = 44
5-28. ch 2, 1 dc in each around, sl st = 44
(cocoon should be 17" long)
29-30. ch 1, sc around, sl st
Fasten off and weave in ends.




Matching Hat:
Materials Needed:
J hook
Remaining yarn from cocoon
Embroidery needle
Scissors

-chain 4, slip stitch to form ring
1. ch 2 (counts as first), 11 dc in ring, sl st = 12
2. ch 2, 1 dc in same, 2 dc in each around, sl st = 24
3. ch 2, *2 dc in next, 1 dc in next* around, sl st = 36
4-8. ch 2, dc in each around, sl st = 36
9-10. ch 1, sc in each around, sl st
Fasten off and weave in ends.
